Dan Phillips serves as director of information technology for AMS. In this role, he leads Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification efforts, ensuring compliance with applicable controls, including NIST SP 800-171 and 800-53. He oversees system installation, maintenance, upgrades and network integration, while driving continuous improvements to support network operations.

Phillips also manages the design, configuration and implementation of core network services, including firewalls (gateways), switches, wireless access points and virtual private networks.

Prior to joining AMS, he served as director of information technology at DESE Research, where he analyzed departmental and job-related requirements to align technology priorities with business needs.

Phillips served in the U.S. Air Force from 2003 to 2007 in communication operations, where he configured networks to support reliable performance and meet mission requirements.

He is a member of the Society of Industrial Security Professionals (NCMS).

Phillips earned a bachelor of science in information technology from Columbia Southern University.
