Steve Cross is the Weapon System Technologies department manager for AMS. He leads a department focused on developing advanced technologies for the warfighter, with an emphasis on radio frequency (RF) and millimeter-wave (MMW) seekers, radars, sensors, modeling and simulation, and real-time distributed systems.

Prior to joining AMS, Cross spent more than 18 years at Dynetics, where he served as a branch manager and subject matter expert supporting a variety of customers in RF and MMW seekers and airborne sensors. He was instrumental in the development, fielding and sustainment of high-fidelity radar and seeker simulations, missile algorithms, passive RF seeker prototypes, advanced thermal solutions enabled by additive manufacturing, and next-generation conformal antenna algorithms.

Many of the systems and algorithms he helped develop are fielded today and directly contribute to operational air and missile defense capabilities.

Cross earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and is a member of the Association of Old Crows and HASBAT.
